Dr. Andrew Lewis

Owner, DVM
Dr. Lewis' Bio

Dr. Andrew Lewis is the owner of the Huntington Beach Pet Hospital! A native to Southern California, having been raised in the San Fernando Valley. He completed both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees at UC Davis in 2003. Dr. Lewis enjoys working with dogs and cats, and he has developed a special interest in dermatology, internal medicine, pain management.

He is an active member of the Southern California and California Veterinary Medical Associations, and American Veterinary Medical Association. As a veterinarian, Dr. Lewis dedicates himself to continuing education in order to deliver the finest care to his patients. He really enjoys teaching his clients and developing the entire patient-client-doctor relationship. His hobbies include reading, fishing, and every possible moment with his family.

Dr. Lewis shares his home with his wife Jennifer, a soprano singer, and they have two children. Gabrielle, his daughter, and Joshua, his son. They all share their home with “Morty”, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Dr. Lewis is ecstatic to be the new owner of the Huntington Beach Pet Hospital and he will strive every day to provide your pet companions the care necessary to live long and healthy lives by your side.

Dr. Lexi Nichols

DVM

Dr. Nichols' Bio

Dr. Lexi Nichols grew up in Laguna Niguel, California. Her passion for animals and inherent desire to care for them began at a very young age. Dr. Nichols was recruited to play soccer in New York City at Columbia University where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then traveled to the beautiful island of St. Kitts where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. For her clinical year, she went to North Carolina State University where she discovered her passion for cardiology and dermatology. In addition to her DVM, Dr. Nichols also came back to California with an adorable “coconut retriever” she rescued named Charlie.

She has a passion for medicine and goes above and beyond for every single one of her patients. Dr. Nichols ensures every patient receives the highest quality of care and enjoys educating her clients about personalized treatment plans for their pets. Her interests outside of work include soccer, hiking, concerts, and snowboarding.

Carla

Practice Manager

Carla's Bio

Carla recently joined the Huntington Beach Pet Hospital team as a Practice Manager. She has been in the veterinary medicine field since 2009 and has worked in almost every position to obtain a well-rounded working knowledge of managing a veterinary hospital. She’s passionate about making your pet’s visit as comfortable and fear-free as possible. She’s a sucker for senior pets and enjoys watching others provide care to our patients. She has a handsome cat named Two-Toned Tony, whom she rescued from New Orleans, and a rescue scruffy mutt named Kaya, who you can find at the dog beach playing frisbee.

Abbie

Lead RVT

Abbie's Bio

Abbie joined Huntington Pet Hospital in 2023 as the Lead RVT. She started her career with animals in 2012 but has grown up around them all her life. She was raised on a ranch and has worked with goats, chickens, dogs, cats, small pocket animals, and avians. Abbie has knowledge in preventative care, dentistry, internal medicine, and emergency. She has a special interest in anesthesia and dentistry. Abbie has a dog named Petrie and a cat named Rosie. She also has a daughter that keeps her busy during her days off. Abbie provides great patient care and cares for them like her own.

Hello, my name is Shay, and I am a veterinary technician. I have been in the field since 2006. I absolutely love my job. I love all creatures! I care for them as if every one of them is my own. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my precious fur babies. They mean the world to me!

Hello! My names Monica and I’ve been a veterinary technician for the past 2 years. I graduated from Volunteer State college with my certification as a veterinary assistant. I have a huge passion for animals and the medical field. I will be attending school for my bachelors in zoology in hopes to be a technician for wildlife. When I’m not at the hospital I enjoy hiking, camping and going exploring with my pup, Lucy!

Hello, my name is Sonia and I have been working as a Veterinary Technician for almost a year. I am currently attending Carrington College to receive my Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. My dream is to one day specialize in Zoology and work with wildlife. I have always had a passion for loving and caring for animals and I’m glad that I get to fulfill that in my job.

Dr. Caroline Page

Board-Certified Ultrasonographer

Dr. Page's Bio
Bringing her own ultrasound machine, Caroline visits clinics upon request to perform diagnostic ultrasounds and uses her knowledge and experience to support veterinarians with difficult cases. Dr Page is a keen participant in continual professional development, including conference attendances across the US writing journal articles and textbook chapters.

Dr. Zachery Smith

Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Smith's Bio

Dr. Zachery Smith is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He specializes in complex orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. During Dr. Smith’s training, he was able to work with some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country. He has also had the privilege of lecturing domestically and internationally on topics such as elbow replacement biomechanics and novel therapies for canine arthritis. These special interests carry over into his clinical practice, pursuing continued advancement in options for both minimally invasive and surgical therapies.

Zachery originated from Northern California and knew from a very young age that he would pursue veterinary medicine. He attended California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, where he achieved Summa Cum Laude for his BS in Animal Science. He continued his education at the University of California, Davis, where he graduated with Phi Zeta honors and earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine. After graduating, Zachery completed a small animal internship at Animal Specialty Group (ASG) in Los Angeles before completing his training with a three-year surgical residency with Sage Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care. Zachery Smith was the medical director for Veterinary Medical and Surgical Goup-OC for two years and continues to serve the clients of VMSG as a staff surgeon.

Dr. Smith finds great honor in opportunities to advance the veterinary profession and is commonly found lecturing to fellow veterinarians, teaching other professionals, or working on developing novel surgical techniques. When not in clinics, Dr. Smith can generally be found working at the family’s horse ranch or at jumping competitions with his children, wife, and five horses, two dogs, three chickens, and a cat.

Hi, my name is Naleia, but everyone calls me Leia for short. It has always been my childhood dream to work and care for animals. I graduated from OC Vet Assistant School. I am currently working on getting my RVT license. I have a Mexican hairless dog named Rosè that I call Nakey for short—she is my pride and joy. My favorite things to do in my free time are roller skating and trying new hairstyles.

Bailey has been in the veterinary field for five years. Bailey is currently enrolled in a vet tech program and plans to take her RVT test when she completes the program. She is passionate about working with small animals, such as dogs and cats, but has a special interest in equine medicine. On her days off, Bailey enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, skiing, and roller skating. Bailey has a five-year-old cat named Martin. Bailey is a wonderful addition to our team and provides great patient care to your loved ones.

Kristina's Bio
Hello, my name is Kristina, and I have been working as a Client Service Representative since 2010. I found my home here at Huntington Beach Pet Hospital in 2016. It was important to me to be part of a practice that is making a difference not only with our patients but with the owners as well. My passion for working in the veterinary field and my experience, continue to grow every day. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time relaxing with my husband, daughter, and my two dogs, Layla and Alvin. I also love pet sitting so when I’m not taking care of my own pets you’ll see me taking care of someone else’s. One of my favorite places is in Laguna at the tide pools where my fascination for the ocean runs away!
